Cauliflower is a safe, low-calorie vegetable for dogs. It's rich in vitamins C and K, plus fiber. Some dogs eat it raw (crunchy treat), others prefer it steamed. Like broccoli and cabbage, it can cause gas and bloating in larger amounts. Always plain โ never with cheese sauce, butter, or garlic. Cauliflower rice made in a food processor with no seasoning is a reasonable low-calorie filler.

Does size or breed matter?
No specific toxicity concern from cauliflower itself at any size โ this is mainly a portion and preparation question. Always serve plain and cooked or chopped small where relevant, since whole or large raw pieces are a bigger choking risk for small and toy breeds than for large dogs. Introduce any new vegetable gradually, as too much fibre too quickly can cause loose stools regardless of the dog's size.
